Mole, Sandman, Pittiplatsch - which television characters were of central importance to children in the 1960s, 70s and 80s? Did the much-loved railway set, the shop or a doll's house make children's hearts beat faster? Did you have your own room or did you have to share your "little kingdom" with your siblings? Although every child's room looked different, there are surprisingly many similarities. The exhibition is dedicated to the everyday world of children in the GDR, presenting a broad spectrum of objects ranging from the contents of the wardrobe to children's books, from furniture to children's films and toys.
