Everything about blueprinting - what is it about the phrases "blueprinting" or "Blue Monday"?
Blueprinting is a centuries-old fabric finishing technique and was inscribed on UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage List in 2018. The processing of blueprint fabrics looks back on a long tradition, especially in Lusatia. Many items of clothing of the Lusatian Sorbs/Wends are traditionally made in blue print. For a time, the fabrics and production techniques fell into oblivion, but recently a renaissance can be observed in blueprinting. In the exhibition, there are interesting facts about the history, the production or the blue print in the Sorbian/Wendish traditional costume.
The touring exhibition can be visited from 04.09.2022 to 06.10.2022 during regular opening hours, Tuesday to Thursday 10:00 - 17:00 and every 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month from 14:00 - 17:00.
