Spinning rooms have a long tradition in the Sorbian/Wendish settlement area. Spinning flax was an important winter chore. Back then, every village girl was proud to be able to present fine, self-woven linen with her dowry. Since spinning alone is no fun, interested people are very welcome. Once a month, the hard-working spinners meet under the direction of Tabea Kobalz to spin all kinds of wool with spinning whorl & spinning wheel. If you have one, please bring your own spinning wheel! For all newcomers, spinning whorls and spinning wheels are available to try out in the atz.
