Internationaler Museumstag 2026

Anlässlich des Internationalen Museumstages, der in diesem Jahr am 17. Mai 2026 zum 49. Mal stattfindet, plant der Arbeitskreis Lausitzer Museenland eine besondere Aktion – einen „Tag des offenen Museums“. Die teilnehmenden Museen öffnen an diesem Tag kostenfrei ihre Türen und bieten zum Teil besondere Veranstaltungen an. They present themselves as places of social and cultural exchange and offer special insights into the world of museums with a variety of event formats. In addition to traditional programmes such as guided tours, there are creative hands-on activities, acoustic highlights, culinary offerings and exciting insights behind the scenes. Visitors are cordially invited to discover the treasures of the museums and be inspired by the passionate commitment of the museum staff.
In Deutschland wird der Internationale Museumstag bundesweit vom Deutschen Museumsbund e.V. koordiniert und in enger Zusammenarbeit mit den Museumsverbänden und -ämtern der Länder auf regionaler Ebene sowie den Museen vor Ort umgesetzt. Unterstützt wird der Museumstag von ICOM Deutschland. In diesem Jahr steht der Aktionstag unter der Schirmherrschaft von Bundesratspräsident Andreas Bovenschulte.
