History of a school - from learning to living

From 5 May to 3 November 2024, the Guben City and Industrial Museum will be showing the special exhibition "History of a school - from learning to living". The exhibition is dedicated to the history of the former Wilhelm Pieck School and looks back at school operations until the school was closed and converted into a care centre. Contemporary witnesses have their say and talk about their school experiences. Photographs by Lars Wiedemann show the architectural vacancy and the process of refurbishment and conversion of the building by Gubener Sozialwerke into a care centre.
