The Lusatian Museum Land Working Group exchanging experiences at the Prignitz Museums Support Group
As part of the LAG project of Spree - Neiße - Land e.V., an 18-member excursion group of museum experts from the Lausitzer Museenland working group travelled to their colleagues in Prignitz on 12 and 13 November. The aim of this south-north crossing of Brandenburg was, in particular, the exchange of experiences between representatives of both museum associations in order to obtain ideas on how the future cooperation of the 40 museums in the Lusatian Museum Land could look.
First, the excursion led to the Wegemuseum in Wusterhausen / Dosse. The museum director, Mrs Zimmermann, presented the diverse exhibition of her museum to the Lusatian museum colleagues and, together with the chairman of the museum's support association, was available to answer questions over a cup of coffee. The next day, they went to the parish museum in Blüthen in the morning, where the excursion group was warmly welcomed by committed museum friends and representatives of the LAG Storchenland Prignitz. The open discussion in the Blüthen church about the creation of the parish museum and the subsequent visit to the parsonage will probably remain in everyone's memory for a long time. The last major item on the programme of the two-day excursion was dedicated to industrial culture: on Saturday afternoon, the Lusatians visited the Pritzwalk museum factory, which was personally presented to the colleagues by the director of the Pritzwalk museum, Mr Schladitz. A final discussion with members of the board of the Förderkreis Prignitzer Museen rounded off the impressions of this professional excursion and opened up unimagined perspectives for future cooperation between the two museum associations.
It was two days full of lively technical discussions, lively exchange of experiences and diverse impressions, which were absolutely worth the long journey from Lusatia to Prignitz.
