The association Flugplatzmuseum Cottbus e.V. has been nominated by Sparkasse Spree-Neiße for the 2019 Entrepreneur Award of the East German Savings Bank Association (OSV) and the magazine "SUPERillu" in the category "Associations".
This award is intended to honour registered associations that can demonstrate special achievements with high social and regional significance through the voluntary commitment of their members and that stand for a lively association life.
After the nomination, representatives of the association were given the opportunity to present their work to a jury in Potsdam. After other applicants had also presented themselves, the panel of representatives from savings banks, chambers, municipalities and the media then made their decision.
The winner of this year's Entrepreneur Award in the category "Association of the Year" is....Trommelwirbel....the Cottbus Airfield Museum e.V.
The association can be more than proud of this award, as it is an official recognition of the many years of work and commitment of all members of the association and, of course, of the many helpers and supporters of the association and the museum, which has not always been easy.
The following is an excerpt from the jury's official statement on the selection of Flugplatzmuseum Cottbus e.V. as "Association of the Year 2019".
... The awarding of this prize to the association highlights the positive development of the diverse association life for the city and the district. This is always brought to life in the region by the "Flugplatzmuseum Cottbus e.V.", because the airfield museum regularly organises festive events such as model exhibitions, museum tours and, of course, cockpit tours in various aircraft, which are enjoyed by thousands of visitors every year.
