Museum Night at the Brandenburg Textile Museum Forst (Lausitz) on 7 September

Category : Current

As an off-site location of the Steamrose Festival, which takes place at the same time in the town of Forst (Lausitz), the museum has prepared numerous offers for all age groups. In addition to regular guided tours of the clothmaker's workshop, including machine demonstrations, there is the opportunity to visit the special exhibition "Carnival in the Neisse Valley" for the last time.
In the courtyard, a washing trough, washboard and wringer as well as a coal-fired washing machine await the big wash like in great-grandma's time. But the biggest highlights of the day will probably be a historic steam-powered locomobile, which drives a log splitter via transmission, and a functioning steam truck.
A pair of donkeys is waiting in the museum's front park to be stroked and taken for short walks. Younger visitors will also be entertained by various games and handicrafts.
Food and drinks, served from historic vehicles, invite you to linger. The celebration will take place from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Sorauer Straße 37.
