When Jacob von Holst wakes up, it's museum night again.

As a long-time companion on posters and flyers, the old fortress builder Jacob von Holst will be brought to life this year for the 20th Museum Night in the district of Spree-Neisse. As always, he is excited to see what special events the museums have come up with for September 2024 and rises from his stone pedestal full of anticipation and mingles with the people.
The 20th Museum Nights offer locals and visitors a unique opportunity to get to know the diverse museum landscape of Lower Lusatia. Under the motto "20 Jahre Museumsnacht - aus Ideen werden Erlebnisse / 20 lět muzejowa noc - z myslickow bywaju dožywjenja", 29 museums, heritage centres, technical monuments and cultural institutions from Guben in the north to Sabrodt in the south and from Forst (Lausitz) via Klein Kölzig to Neupetershain-Nord open their doors late into the night. The Museum Nights are unique and more than just an ordinary museum visit. Special guided tours, concerts, hands-on activities, readings and cabaret are on offer. Special exhibitions are also opened, historical technology is demonstrated, ovens are fired up to bake bread and fresh cakes and much more. The programme is varied and entertaining. It includes special guided tours, concerts, hands-on activities, readings and cabaret. In addition, special exhibitions are opened, historical technology is presented, ovens for baking bread and fresh cakes are fired up and much more.
Visitors can experience all this and much more on hopefully balmy summer evenings in the museums. As always, the little house ghost Kobi will be there. He points out special events and exciting activities for children.
The Lusatian Museum Land and Jacob von Holst cordially invite all young and old culture lovers and night owls to this year's Museum Nights.
