Castle Play in the Lower Lusatian Heath Museum Spremberg

The castle game is a search and orientation game of the museum. Dressed up in medieval costumes, we go in search of previously photographed exhibits. If all of them are found, including an old key, then we can use it to open the treasure chest. There is brief information about the objects found. In this way, all areas of the house are illuminated and the purpose of a museum is explained.

Different tasks have to be solved according to the age of the participants.

Life in the past and today in the Lower Lusatian Heath Museum Spremberg

We will compare a day as experienced by the great-grandparents with today. There will be insights into the food storage of that time, the nutrition, procurement and preservation.

A short film shows historical crafts. History thus becomes an exciting experience.
Afterwards, we "examine" various pieces of equipment and try out some of them.

Exhibition about Johann Friedrich Fritze in the Protestant Church Kolkwitz

The exhibition pays tribute to the life and work of the Kolkwitz pastor, writer and demographer Johann Friedrich Fritze (20.09.1747 - 15.01.1819) in text, images and sound. He was the first to translate the Old Testament into Lower Sorbian and had it printed largely at his own expense. The exhibition is complemented by portraits of important contemporaries. To the left of the entrance are the graves of Pastor Fritzes and his daughter-in-law Eleonore Auguste, née Elsasser. The original gravestone of Pastor Fritze in the Wendish language is in the exhibition room. In the church, two wooden panels under the right gallery provide information about the history of the Niedersorben / Wends.

Time Travel / Green Classroom in the "Sorbian Farmhouse" Heinersbrück

A journey through time in the "Sorbian farmhouse". The children learn about the museum exhibition in a playful way. They learn about various exhibits in detail and explore life in the village with the help of a "guide". After completing various tasks, a treasure is to be found.

It is appropriate to divide larger groups. A visit to the Green Classroom in Heinersbrück is possible at the same time. By arrangement, a variety of topics can be explored in addition, such as "From Grain to Bread" or "From the Cow to the Fridge".

Sorbian Easter customs at the Wendish-German Museum of Local History in Jänschwalde

The project day is dedicated to the Easter customs of the Sorbian/Wendish population in Lower Lusatia. Depending on the wish, Easter egg painting or Easter egg whaling will be practised by the children themselves. The children can demonstrate their dexterity in an egg race, and the traditional Easter bonfire also provides enthusiasm.

"Lost home" in the roof truss of the church - memories of destroyed churches - Horno

In earlier decades, the future landscape was not considered when mining coal. Extraction rates counted and environmental issues were hardly taken into account. The fate of the inhabitants and church communities was marked by economic constraints and insufficient compensation. The theme is illustrated with 27 models of mined churches, 4 film stations with short films about the communities in which those affected describe their backgrounds and fates, 18 maps of areas that no longer exist, and original exhibits of destroyed churches. Historical facts, last services, reburials, whereabouts of church property, resettlement practices, church replacement construction, church relocations, saved congregations, threatened places are documented for posterity.

Horno Church Information and Meeting Centre

Historical dolls and toys at the Kackrow Toy Museum

Doll's carriages and doll's houses, kitchens, shops, dolls and toys - essentially from a period from around 1880 to 1960 - are on display in the exhibition. Schildkröt dolls, Käthe Kruse dolls, porcelain head and mass dolls, teddies and also mannequins are presented. However, visitors should bring time and quiet with them, because many things in the showcases can only be seen on a second tour.
